Reversible Quilted Tote Bag

Reversible quilted tote bag

I had this urge to make a quilted tote bag yesterday.
I hadn't made bags for a quite while. Tote bags are
something I used to make like crazy. When I just started
learning how to sew, I really enjoyed making simple tote
bags and making them gifts for my friends.

I felt like making a tote bag, because this pink
feedsack I purchased on ebay is so super cute and
had to become a bag! I am totally pleased with the result.

I used fleece batting, so it's nicely sturdy and cozy.
The liner, which could be the outer if reversed is
Amy Bulter's fabric I really love too.
It's about 11 1/2" times 13 1/2".

I've listed the bag in my shop ;)

Some other things I created last week are more coasters.

Making these are addictive! I know I'll make more.
I'll be more than happy to include one of these
(or a piece of Japanese fabric) if you snatch anything
from my shop until the end of this month ;)

UPDATE(3/24): Thank you! All the coasters are gone-
I'd still love to include Japanese fabric though ;)

Thanks for coming & reading!

Have a great weekend!

  10. I agree with Katie, we need this tutorial!!
Also Pink Penguin, I know I have previously left you a comment on here today, but can you help me. You regularly use fabrics that look like tape measures, where is this fabric from?? I love it soo much, and I cant seem to hunt it down anywhere!!! It would finish off my current project really well.
    Thanks

  19. Thanks so much everyone!

    Miss_Oaken-
Feedsack is vintage fabric that is somewhat thinner than cotton fabric but looks great with linen. This website explains about feedsacks ;)
As for the measurement fabric, it is by moda, and you can find it here. Happy Sewing ;)
