Shhhhhhhhhhh....!!
The recipient hasn't seen them yet ;)
I made these shoes again based on this fabulous tute.
Thanks, Joanna! It is absolutely one of my favorite tutorials!
I made four pairs using the same pattern last year for
Joe's niece Sarah last year. Because she became much bigger
by the time I finally got to see her, I never got to see her
wearing those shoes, but her parents told me that
they loved the shoes on her and that they want me to make
larger baby shoes for her. These ones though that I enlarged
the pattern by 120% might be too big for her.. better than
too small, I guess ;)
When it comes to sewing for babies, a bunch of Japanese
fabric in my stash start saying "pick me! me me me me!!"
Japanese kawaii fabric sure makes cute stuff for babies.
We all love handmade items for children.
I strongly hope this CPSCA won't go into effect.
Thanks for coming & reading!
I haven't been to your blog for a while and have LOVED reading about all your recent crafting and seeing the lovely pictures - especially of the penguin quilt and the Taihei quilt. You are so talented! I love the way you combine colors and prints. Looking forward to seeing more quilts!
ReplyDeleteI'd love a pair of those brown ones on the right for myself! Looks like a great pattern - I've done something similar with wool and suede, but this looks easier (and cuter). Do you use the bonded fleece as the pattern calls for?
ReplyDeleteAww. Those are adorable. I have a couple little ones in my life I'd like to make some for. :)
ReplyDeleteThese shoes are simply adorable! I love coming to see what you make every day.
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous shoes! I've been admiring your work from the UK for a while now.
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd the slippers so cute! Um....maybe I'll make some!
Love the shoes! I'm with you re: CPSCA. I hope they at the very least make some exceptions for handmade/used clothing.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is so cute!!! I really enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! I just printed off a baby shoe pattern (maybe this one-can't remember)! I am so excited to get started now:)
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
Those are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteMau-
I think enlarging the pattern by 120% will be great for your granddaughter. Those shoes that I made fit well on a big 1 year old too.
I love those baby shoes are so lovely and the colors are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! It is quite easy to scale up baby shoe patterns, as someone else said, enlarging on the photocopier is the easiest way. You don't have to alter the height of the heel piece much, just the length.
ReplyDeleteThese little shoes are just too cute! I think I need to make a pair (or two or three) for my newest GD. I wonder if I could get the Minkee fabric to behave for the lining.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute! Pity my daughter is too big to have a pair herself. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHi! I just wanted to tell you I recently found your blog and am so inspired by the beautiful things you make. I nominated you for an award. You can read about it here.
