Logcabin Top

logcabin top - will be a potholder

Super quick update!
I just wanted to share with you this little logcabin
top that I made last night. I think it turned out really cute.
I am thinking this can be a potholder.

I love combining everything: Japanese fabric,
modern designer fabric, and vintage fabric.
The "Apple" fabric is from Ebay.
Ebay is an awesome place to go if you love vintage fabric!!

The mini iron rocks by the way!
I put a little ironing board right next to my
sewing machine so that I could work with the iron
and the sewing machine side by side, never having
to get up. It saved me a LOT of time!!!

Look how messy my small crafting table is right now.
To work big, I have to push everything aside to make
space and that leads to...

Fabrics falling off from the table. And this may explain
why I wanted to start making something small before
I finish up the placemats. haha. I'll clean up the space
and finish all the projects this week. hehe.

Thanks for coming and reading!

  1. I am in love with that, put it in your etsy store, please, I must have it!!!!

  2. You're always so sweet, Jane!
I'll list it in my shop if it turns out nice after quilting. Thanks!!

  3. Just darling! I'm not surprised that Jane covets it! It is mostly PINK after all!

  4. How cute is the poodle in the middle! Love your work!

  5. Logcabin top looks lovely. Its so pretty that you could turn it into a mini quilt and hang on the wall to admire! :)

  6. You really do a great job with your design and colors. I enjoy reading your blog because you always have new and fresh ideas. Keep up the great work!

  7. I really enjoy the fabric choices. :) great work!

  8. I love it! I think I'm pretty good with mixing colors and textures, but your stuff looks so modern. Mine turns out looking kindof classic quilting looking, which I'm not in love with anymore. I guess it's time to go fabric shopping! :)

  9. Those colours are really fun together. Lovely! I recognize the mess on your sewing table by the way. When I'm working, Í somehow create chaos around me too. But on the other hand, with fabrics like that, it is at least a very pretty mess. ;-)

  10. I am in love with this too! Really creative and i love all the fun fabrics you used! I always create a mess when im working. :) Have a lovely merry happy day and love to you!

  11. Great tip about the iron! Your fabric selections are great!

  12. Hey you take a photo my workspace ;-) Your quilting ideas are great, so cute!

  15. This is so pretty, I just love it. I might have to get myself a mini-iron :)

  16. i like you neat work...i inspire me to do the same..really admire.. all the best

  17. love love love the mix of fabrics...and course the fact that its PINK!! :)

  18. You always make such wonderful fabric combinations! I am curious about the mini-iron - do you use for quilting always? Is it better that a regular iron?

  19. Thanks everyone!

I started using the mini iron for little projects like this. The mini iron is great because it doesn't take that much space, but I use both a regular iron and the mini iron. To iron big, the mini iron isn't very useful, so I use the mini iron just for seam allowances. Hope this helps!

  20. Muy buenos trabajos felicitaciones
